Following on from the success of my famous Marmite and cheese muffins recipe I decided to spice things up a bit, literally, with some chorizo and chillies.
I present to you my super quick and easy to make spicy chorizo and cheese muffins…
Anyone who knows me will tell you how much I love to be organised! It genuinely makes me feel calm and happy to organise even the smallest of tasks.
This blog post won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but I hope some of you find it useful 😊
Since turning the big 3-0 in December, I have been on a real mission to focus on improving my mind and increasing my happiness. I’ve always been a pretty smiley and happy person but this wasn’t always the case inside.
Last year I got married. Now every day I wake up and see my husband and feel hugely grateful to have met him. He is the most incredible support in my life and I’m so happy to have him. Unfortunately I had quite a stressful time in the run up to our wedding and my anxiety took over a bit. Since the big (fantastic) day passed I have been able to take a step back, settle down and enjoy married life. This year has so far been the happiest of my life and I am taking each day as it comes, keeping focussed and being happy. (more…)
I love spring! The blossom is blooming, lambs are leaping and the sun is shining! Well, maybe that’s not an entirely accurate vision of a Scottish spring, but parts of it are definitely true.
At this time of year the road leading up to our Edinburgh flat bursts into life as the lining trees pop with pink blossom – I can’t help but smile as I walk past.
Not only do I love what spring does to the trees and weather but I love dressing for spring; both myself and my home. So here are some of my favourite spring florals purchased this year…
I couldn’t resist buying this gorgeous floral bag from Accessorize. It’s a wee bit smaller than I hoped (I ordered it online) but it is packed full of different compartments which I love for organising the chaos within. I’ve also recently been converted to across body bags rather than my usual go to shoulder bag. They are just far more practical and leave you with your hands free to hold your phone, shopping or that cheeky glass of wine.
The influx of sites such as Notonthehighstreet.com and Etsy have created fantastic platforms for people to get creative and sell their own products. These in turn give the rest of us the opportunity to find the most thoughtful and relevant gifts for our friends and family.
I’m a huge fan of simple cooking and easy recipes. I also love bread but haven’t had much success in making my own until I discovered this super simple recipe.
If I’m honest, this could be better described as a giant savoury muffin or scone, but it serves every purpose a fresh loaf would. My favourite way to enjoy this would be heating up a chunk in the microwave for 10 seconds and smothering it in butter – ultimate comfort snack!
One of my favourite things to do in life is to chill out on a Saturday afternoon in a pretty, cosy cafe. Edinburgh is great for this, but my neighbourhood of Leith is particularly special.
The diversity of people, pubs, cafes and restaurants is what made me fall in love with Leith. From the recently opened Starbucks (I’m not ashamed to like chains too) to the vast range of little independent coffee shops featured in this blog post.
Whenever I’m driving or walking down Leith Walk there always seems to be somewhere new that catches my eye. Recently, there seems to have been an influx of cafes so I decided to share my faves and hopefully you can tell me about some I’ve missed!
